Summary of Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician supports the efficient, safe, and effective operation of District facilities by coordinating key operational systems, resources, and administrative functions. This position is responsible for managing inventory, work order coordination, key control, scheduling support, and facilities‑related records to ensure District operations are organized, responsive, and aligned with operational priorities. The Facilities Technician serves as a central resource for facilities operations by supporting staff, maintaining accurate records, and promoting efficient use of District resources.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Manages cleaning supply inventory, including ordering, tracking, and distribution to ensure adequate stock levels across all District sites.
  • Maintains inventory control systems and monitors usage to support cost‑effective purchasing and resource allocation.
  • Coordinates facilities staff scheduling, processes time‑off requests, and maintains staffing records to support operational coverage and reporting.
  • Administers the District work order management system by receiving, prioritizing, assigning, tracking, and closing maintenance requests while monitoring completion timelines.
  • Communicates with staff and supervisors regarding work order status, priorities, and follow‑up actions.
  • Oversees furniture inventory, including tracking assets, coordinating distribution, and maintaining warranty records and documentation.
  • Manages key control systems, including issuing, tracking, and securing building keys and access credentials in accordance with District procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to inventory, work orders, scheduling, and asset management.
  • Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and processes.
  • Assists with general facilities coordination and responds to operational needs as assigned.
  • Performs other duties of a comparable nature as assigned.

  • Facilities operations, including maintenance coordination, custodial support, and basic building systems.
  • Inventory management practices, including tracking, ordering, and distribution of supplies and equipment.
