Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with district and state standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning.
  • Develop and implement culturally relevant and responsive teaching practices.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Implement school and district behavior expectations using positive behavior supports.
  • Build strong relationships with students, fostering their academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Address individual student needs through intervention strategies and support plans.
  • Foster student independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Analyze student performance data to inform instruction and differentiate support.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to guide their learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and growth.
  • Communicate student progress with families through conferences, reports, and ongoing engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff.
  • Participate in professional learning communities and school-wide initiatives.

  • Support district initiatives in culturally responsive teaching and anti-racist education.
  • Advocate for student needs and work to eliminate barriers to success.
  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other assigned duties.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and community members.
  • Maintain compliance with school policies, procedures, and state regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or school leadership team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of child development, learning theories, and best practices in elementary education.
  • Knowledge of district, state, and national academic standards and curriculum frameworks.
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching and equity-driven instructional practices.
  • Proficiency in differentiated instruction to support diverse learners for all students.
  • Knowledge of formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor and enhance student learning.
  • Awareness of social-emotional learning (SEL) principles and trauma-informed teaching practices.
  • Understanding of technology integration to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Familiarity with positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and restorative practices.
  • Strong instructional planning and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to design engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology, including learning management systems and digital tools.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning, student assessments, and classroom responsibilities.
