Senior Electrical Technical Lead – Responsibilities- Coordinate electrical work with the multi‑disciplinary team throughout the entire project’s development.
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings concerning electrical systems.
- Serve as the electrical lead on projects.
- Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Conduct schematic, design‑development, and contract‑document work sessions with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
- Monitor project development and financials with the project lead to ensure work is completed within the agreed budget and schedule.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and Regional Controller on project reviews with corporate management as needed.
- Direct and mentor other electrical engineering professionals and staff members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Provide market‑sector focused expertise and act as a resource for the team.
- Engage in professional society activities, track conference and presentation opportunities to promote HDR as a trusted expert.
- Analyze market sector and design trends to assess growth or decline opportunities.
- Work with Team Leads and Business Class Leads (BCL) for staffing to meet market‑sector projections.
- Identify key personnel, unique challenges, and plan high‑level roles and hours for projects.
- Recommend tools, resources, and process improvements beneficial to market‑sector projects.
- Lead project charrettes and reviews for projects within the market sectors.
- Conduct training and mentoring on technical growth within the market sector.
- Support other HDR areas and alternate business groups as a technical resource.
- Facilitate cross‑business‑class collaboration within the market sector.
- Assist with proposal writing and fee preparation for the specific market.
- Participate in project interviews when necessary.
- Participate in candidate interviews and the hiring process when necessary.
- Professional Engineering License.
- 10+ years’ experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems).
- Associate's degree in engineering or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported.
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands‑on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards pertinent to the discipline.
- Proven ability to work in multi‑disciplinary environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to active participation in the employee‑owned culture.
Salary range: $113,631 – $162,330 (Minnesota). The position is fully paid, full‑time, regular. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, employee assistance, paid time off, parental leave, paid holidays, retirement savings with employer match, referral bonus, and tuition reimbursement. Other locations available in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
