About the Company

Max's is a fine jewelry boutique, specializing in artisan made items. We also sell some gift items and items for the home, as well as fine specialty chocolates from around the world. Our jewelry sales make up more than 75% of our total sales volume. Our jewelry is unique to our customers given that it is not widely distributed in the Twin Cities or Minnesota and in that it is either made by the designer him/herself or by the small team of artisan jewelers with whom they work.

None of the work is sent overseas to be made in a jewelry "factory".

We are looking for a candidate to fill one part‑time sales associate position. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be energetic and friendly, and be passionate about outstanding design and quality craftsmanship. Experience in the broader arts and design industries—such as jewelry, high‑end/luxury clothing, home décor, photography, or art gallery sales—is desirable but not mandatory. Retail experience is also considered favorably.

• Provide exceptional, "no‑pressure" customer service in a collaborative team environment.
• Use the automated point‑of‑sale system and become proficient with it.
• Participate in daily inventory activities, restock supplies, and support opening and closing tasks, including store set‑up and break‑down.
• Follow day‑to‑day direction from the manager.
• May create social media content and support the mechanics of social media platforms.

Part‑time employees will be scheduled for approximately 12–24 hours per week and must work at least 2–3 Saturdays per month. Closing duties typically end between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM.

Hourly wage with a quarterly bonus based on a percentage of total hours worked and the store reaching quarterly growth goals. This is not a commissioned sales position.

• Previous high‑end retail sales and/or customer service experience.
• Ability to work on Saturday.
• Previous experience in broader arts and design industries or high‑end/luxury clothing, home décor, photography, or art gallery sales is preferred.
• Self‑confidence, positive outlook, and motivation as a self‑starter.
