Provide a safe and enjoyable recreational setting for individuals using the City’s splash pad. Attendants represent the City and are expected to act in a responsible manner and set a good example for participants and their parents. A staff T-shirt will be provided by the City and must be worn while working.
Position is seasonal and runs June – August 2026, working 15-30 hours per week. Hours are Monday – Friday. Attendants are scheduled between 9am–4pm in split shifts or potential for a full day.
Before the season begins- Attends a paid training meeting. Facility Attendants will receive keys, along with other supplies needed for the job.
- Fills out all necessary paperwork.
- Reports to work, arriving and leaving as scheduled.
- Works in an outdoor setting.
- Wears uniform if assigned; keeps self‑neat and clean.
- Welcomes participants, being friendly and involved.
- Opens facility, setting up needed equipment; picks up/cleans splash pad areas and bathrooms.
- Supervises and disciplines as needed to ensure the safety of participants, enforce facility rules, and protect property.
- Communicates with supervisor regarding any schedule changes, events occurring at the Splash Pad, and needs during one shift.
- Checks in group rentals as scheduled and updates onsite group reservations book with information provided.
- Deposits daily revenue and prepares daily cash.
- Follows department procedure in case of an accident. Phones 911 if necessary. This position does NOT require you to administer first aid.
- Completes report forms as required (accident, deposits, attendance, discipline, time sheets).
- Keeps supervisor informed about what is needed at your location to perform your duties.
- Operates a cell phone.
- Sets up and tears down the check‑in table.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Responsible individual.
- Independent worker.
- Self‑starter.
- Previous experience working as a gym supervisor, warming house attendant, or other similar position.
- Experience working independently.
- Experience working tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
