Overview

Kforce has a client located in the Saint Louis, MO area that is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and supporting ongoing process improvements. This position plays an integral part in maintaining the general ledger, preparing, and reviewing financial statements, and guiding the accounting team. The ideal candidate is hands on, proactive, and committed to fostering a strong financial operations environment.

The client offers a compensation package, and opportunity for growth. This position is fully on-site with a one-day remote, professional business attire.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review ledger entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards prior to Controller review.
  • Maintain and enhance the general ledger system, including participation in automation initiatives and process improvements.
  • Support the annual budget process by preparing financial data, analysis, and projections.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing ongoing guidance and development; assist with hiring and training additional team members as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Identify financial discrepancies and implement solutions to maintain data accuracy and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role (preferred).
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Business Central or FYI Soft Reporting is a plus but not required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and supervise accounting staff.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues, management, and company leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and systems.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, applying logical reasoning to evaluate options and recommend improvements.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings clearly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot financial issues and recommend viable solutions.
Additional Information

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
