Rubin Brown’s Internal Accounting team is looking for a Financial Statement Accountant to join us during our exciting period of growth.
This role offers the opportunity to build on your accounting experience while working with financial data, preparing reports, and supporting firm-wide financial decisions.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and support the monthly close process
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including variance analysis
- Perform bank, cash, and subsidiary account reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation, disposals, and compliance with GAAP and tax requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and collaborate with teams to streamline workflows
- Support other accounting functions as needed
Preferred Experience / Background / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- At least two (2) years of experience in general accounting
- CPA license preferred
- Experience in an accounting role with similar responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize effectively
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and professional standards
- Comfort using accounting systems, the Microsoft Office suite, and related technology
- Experience with Great Plains or BNA Fixed Assets preferred
- Typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
- Hybrid schedule with 2-3 days per week in the office as determined by workload
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by workload
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to move throughout office
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30-50 pounds
