Responsibilities:
  • Manage all day-to-day financial and business operations for a portfolio of multiple clients in varied industries, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Drive and own all aspects of month-end close, including journal entries (prepaids,
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations (bank/credit card, balance sheet, and P&L accounts) with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Produce and analyze monthly financial packages, with a focus on balance sheet reconciliation, income statement review, and management/board reports.
  • Oversee bill payments, monitor cash flow, and proactively advise clients on their
  • Collaborate with clients to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts, offering insights and recommendations tailored to their business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with state business registrations and annual filings, proactively
  • Cultivate and strengthen client relationships — not only meeting their needs but anticipating them, and becoming a valued advisor to vendors, CPAs, customers, and other partners.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of staff accountants, fostering development in areas including A/P, A/R, payroll, and more.
Requirements:
  • 5–10 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in a client-facing, multi-account environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships, balancing priorities while
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse personalities and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated integrity, ethical standards, and sound judgment.
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented, with a flair for numbers and problem-solving.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, able to work independently while
  • Expertise with Quick Books Online (QBO) and proficient in Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Puzzle, Ramp, Net Suite, Ajera) and openness to learning new software quickly.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., Insperity, Gusto, ADP, Rippling, Just Works, etc.) and a desire to continually expand your technical toolkit.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred (a Plus):
  • Experience in both internal and external client-facing accounting roles.
  • Knowledge of equity management platforms like Carta and Fidelity.
  • Prior success in high-volume, fast-paced, consulting-style settings.
