Colibri Group is looking for a talented Senior Accounting Analyst to enhance ecosystem reporting and compliance through accounting and finance leadership. This individual will be responsible for ensuring analytical review, completeness and accuracy of financials, and building a strong working relationship with ecosystem presidents and owners. They will work with business leaders and other members of the accounting team to develop reconciliations, performance reports and accrual methodologies to build visibility into performance.
They'll be empowered and supported by teammates to help identify and create systematic and procedural efficiency changes, critically thinking about costs, business activity and revenue drivers, including specific PE reporting requirements and technical GAAP components such as Foreign Exchange standards.
- Perform month-end close process related to main ecosystems (accounting & shared services), including:
- Work closely with business leaders to understand key drivers for month-end performance vs. plan and lead business projects to support business leaders with financial needs.
- Prepare management discussion and analysis commentary related to the above ecosystems’ month-end performance.
- Prepare month-end close journal entries.
- Support integration of acquired entities into related ecosystems
- Address management questions related to ecosystem performance
- Effectively communicate month-end results to management.
- Analyze and report categorized addbacks.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements by:
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to accrued liabilities, credit cards and intercompany balances.
- Ensure adequate supporting documentation is in place to support financial results.
- Ensure accounting data for respective ecosystems is accurately coded and complete.
- Research, analyze and document issues arising in the course of business.
- Initiate and collaborate to drive processes and procedures improvements related to areas of responsibility.
- Support accounting management with Colibri's external audits by researching and responding to accounting and financial questions.
- Undertake special projects and/or general management assignments as requested by accounting management.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including an established record of success in progressively senior accounting/finance positions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is required; CPA is a plus.
- Highly results-oriented with ability to demonstrate impeccable integrity and honesty.
- Must be highly organized, analytical and detail oriented.
- Process improvement-oriented thinking and demonstrate intellectual curiosity (entrepreneurial spirit).
- Strong accounting experience ideally in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company; revenue reconciliation experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills that allow projects and goals to be completed timely.
- Audit experience is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
