Senior Accountant
SummaryResponsibilities include performing recurring tasks within the Finance Department related to the month-end and year end close processes, assisting with the accounts payable and corporate card processes, preparing, and examining financial records and complying with generally accepted accounting principles. The Senior Accountant will also communicate with executives, departments, branches, and external contacts and will perform financial research and analysis and assure the firm is adhering to applicable accounting policies, regulations, and laws.
Reconciliations and account analyses are also necessary on a recurring and as needed basis. Assistance with tax-related estimates, accruals, reviews and filings may also be required. Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work independently are requirements for this position.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and regulatory reporting documents.
- Participate in month-end and year end close processes.
- Prepare documents and interpret financial information for managers and executives.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Review tax returns and estimates and process related payments.
- Respond to audit and regulatory requests.
- Contribute to the implementation of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable process.
- Complete monthly and as needed account analyses and reconciliations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong mathematical, problem solving and financial analysis skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, SAP Concur, ADP, or Lease Query are a plus.
- Knowledge of Lease Accounting is preferred.
- Success working independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance preferred. - Working Experience

This position requires the ability to work in a stationary position for several hours at a time and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally. Some filing is required. The work environment is an air‑conditioned, smoke‑free, office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
