Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Saint Louis, MO that is seeking an Accountant. In this role, the Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing general accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The role includes preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial statements, supporting audits, assisting with budgeting, cost accounting, and compliance with GAAP standards.
General Ledger & Financial Reporting- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Perform monthly and year‑end closing activities
- Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments
- Record customer payments and manage bank deposits
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Assist in annual budget preparation and monthly variance analysis
- Provide financial data to support strategic decision‑making
- Maintain adherence to GAAP and internal controls
- Prepare documentation for external audits and regulatory filings
- Support cost accounting activities and operational reporting
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage Intacct) and intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Candidates must have experience in a similar role or possess significant knowledge and ability to perform the responsibilities listed
- Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. The actual compensation may be higher or lower and may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs.
