Accounting Associate

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our client's team in Saint Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks including managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy in transactional duties, and supporting special projects. This is a permanent, onsite position within a dynamic and growing organization.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices using a three-way matching system, ensuring accurate coding with General Ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies.

- Analyze freight invoices for potential overcharges and reconcile freight claims with carriers.

- Review and validate weekly billing reports from carrier portals to ensure accuracy.

- Handle billing and payment processing tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate records.

- Maintain customer accounts, including reactivating inactive accounts when necessary.

- Apply payments to accounts and proactively manage collections to minimize outstanding balances.

- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements - At least 3 years of experience managing full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Familiarity with purchase orders, freight billings, and freight claims is preferred.

- Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is a strong advantage.

- Proficiency in accounting software systems, with Macola familiarity being a plus.

- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, including formula creation and data analysis.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on clarity and professionalism.

- Excellent organizational abilities, time management, and attention to detail to handle multiple tasks effectively.
