The client has a new temporary-to-permanent position for an Accountant III at their Downtown office. They're looking for candidates with at least 5 years of experience in public accounting, transportation, or government, and a Bachelor's degree. Preferred candidates will have a graduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, and certifications like CPA, CFE, or CMA. The position may become permanent based on performance.

• Manage general ledger and financial records.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries.
• Analyze financial statements and ensure they meet GAAP standards.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide financial reports to leadership.
• Help with annual budgets and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Lead audits and improve accounting processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants.
• Assist with special projects and strategic financial planning.

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software (like SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those in public transportation or government accounting.
• Certifications (CPA, CFE, or CMA) are a plus.
