Kforce has a client in Clayton, MO (hybrid) that is seeking an Accountant for a contract through August. The Accountant is responsible for general accounting duties for third‑party property management clients.
Responsibilities- Complete property and corporate month‑end close processes (e.g., prepare general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and budget variance analysis)
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
- Draft monthly reporting packages
- Forecast cash balances and prepare distribution
- Assist with tenant common area maintenance and property tax reconciliations
- Work with Property Managers to prepare annual budgets if needed
- Respond to internal requests for information and provide analysis on an as‑needed basis
- Communicate with tenants about rent payment application and coordinate with Property Managers on tenant ledgers
- Prepare necessary documentation to adjust tenant accounts
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Reconcile outstanding checks
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries as necessary
- Associate’s degree, required with an emphasis in Accounting, preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Strong math and critical thinking skills
Highly organized and able to effectively handle multiple priorities simultaneously - Ability to work independently and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Unwavering commitment to excellent client service
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
