Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting tasks for the organization including, but not limited to, reviewing financial data, reconciling the general ledger, supporting external audits, managing payables and receivables, and performing administration of financial systems and processes.
Duties:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and
operational strategies, including system upgrades, process improvements, and the deployment
of new technologies
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, identify areas for
development or enhancement, and deliver technological solutions that improve efficiency,
effectiveness, and overall productivity
* Research and document accounting guidance for unique transactions
* Assist in the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly
recorded, preparing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, account analysis, and report preparation
* Supports the external audit process
* Assist in the company's tax cycle including calculations, forecasting, and tracking filing deadlines and payments
* Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts
* Coordinate the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, expense reports, and vendor relationships
* Assist in the company's corporate credit card program, including monitoring and reconciling
transactions, ensuring compliance with policies, and resolving discrepancies
* Other duties and ad hoc projects assigned
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
* Minimum 5 years of experience working in accounting
* Experience using accounting software and data analytic tools
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
