Job DescriptionThe Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and accounting support to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This role assists with maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting various accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities- Process and enter financial transactions into accounting systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with accounts payable activities, including invoice entry, coding, and payment processing.
- Support accounts receivable functions, including invoice preparation, payment application, and account maintenance.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other assigned accounts.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and account analyses as requested.
- Research and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and account balances.
- Communicate with internal departments and external vendors or customers regarding financial inquiries.
- Monitor and maintain accurate data within accounting and reporting systems.
- Assist with audit preparation by gathering supporting documentation and reports.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial schedules.
- Support special projects and perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related office experience preferred.
- Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including formulas, sorting, filtering, lookups, and spreadsheet management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
- Ability to accurately enter, review, and analyze financial data.
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
