Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Dealer Auditor to support automotive dealership warranty audit activities across a designated region. This position is focused exclusively on warranty auditing and requires candidates with direct experience reviewing warranty claims, dealership service operations, and warranty compliance processes.
This is a highly visible field-based role involving extensive travel to automotive dealerships, where you will conduct audits, analyze warranty-related activities, identify compliance concerns, and provide detailed audit findings and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site warranty audits at automotive dealerships
- Review warranty claims, repair orders, technician documentation, labor operations, and supporting records
- Ensure compliance with OEM warranty policies, procedures, and program requirements
- Prepare audit reports, notification letters, findings summaries, and supporting documentation
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Communicate audit findings with dealership management and internal stakeholders
- Maintain audit tools, records, and reporting systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warranty processes and controls
- 5+ years of experience in automotive dealership operations, warranty administration, warranty compliance, or warranty auditing
- Strong understanding of dealership fixed operations, including service, parts, and warranty departments
- Experience reviewing warranty claims and dealership warranty processes
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures, diagnostics, and technical information systems
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Office 365
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively (80%+)
- Previous warranty audit, compliance audit, operational audit, or dealership audit experience
- Experience working with OEM warranty systems and dealership management systems (DMS)
- Knowledge of franchised dealership operations and warranty claim processing
- Experience with automated auditing tools, claims processing systems, or digital audit platforms
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CFE, or PMP are a plus
- Travel to automotive dealerships throughout the assigned region
- Company vehicle provided
- Hotel accommodations provided when required
- Home-based role with no daily office reporting requirement
Note:
Candidates must possess direct warranty auditing and/or warranty compliance experience within automotive dealership environments. Experience limited to incentive auditing, financial auditing, or non-automotive auditing will not be considered.
