Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Kforce's client, a rapidly growing franchise organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking an experienced hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations and drive financial excellence across a large multi-unit business. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, accounting systems, process improvements, budgeting, forecasting, and team development while partnering with executive leadership to support strategic growth. This position will be full-time on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, reconciliations, and month-end close

* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and maintain effective internal controls

* Enhance reporting structures and chart of accounts to improve financial visibility and performance analysis

* Evaluate, optimize, and support ERP and accounting system improvements, upgrades, and implementations

* Develop financial reports and analytics that support operational and strategic decision-making

* Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes

* Partner with executive leadership to provide insights into profitability, labor costs, operating expenses, and key business metrics

* Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred

* 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities

* Franchise, retail, restaurant, hospitality, or other multi-unit industry experience

* Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager

* Experience with ERP implementations, system conversions, and accounting process improvements

* Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams

* Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes

* Experience supporting multi-location businesses preferred
