Accounting Supervisor

Kforce's client, a growing organization in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations, support financial reporting, and lead a team responsible for maintaining accurate financial records. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, improving processes, and delivering timely financial information to support business decisions. This is a hybrid position in the Saint Louis, MO area.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and mentor accounting staff, assigning work and managing daily workflow

* Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP

* Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes

* Develop, implement, and improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting processes

* Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance the accuracy of financial data

* Partner with cross-functional teams to address accounting issues and support business initiatives

* Research complex accounting matters and provide recommendations to management

* Assist with financial reporting, audits, and special projects as needed
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

* Previous experience leading or supervising accounting staff

* Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices

* Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools

* CPA designation preferred

* Experience in inventory and/or manufacturing environments preferred
