Position Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Assurance Manager to provide strategic leadership for audit, review, and compilation engagements while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. This role is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of client engagements, leading engagement teams, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and driving business growth through exceptional client service and technical expertise. The Senior Assurance Manager will collaborate with firm leadership, mentor emerging professionals, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the assurance practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement Leadership – Lead multiple audit, review, and compilation engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality client service and compliance with professional standards.
  • Develop comprehensive engagement plans, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessments, internal control evaluations, and audit strategies.
  • Review engagement work papers, financial statements, and deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable accounting and auditing standards.
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and client expectations throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Resolve complex engagement issues while maintaining project profitability and quality standards.
  • Technical Leadership – Serve as a technical subject matter expert in a specialized industry or accounting discipline.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS), U.S. GAAP, and other applicable financial reporting frameworks.
  • Research and interpret emerging accounting standards, auditing guidance, and regulatory changes, providing recommendations and documenting technical conclusions.
  • Sign audit, review, and compilation reports in accordance with applicable professional standards and organizational quality control policies.
  • Client Relationship Management & Business Development – Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their business objectives, challenges, and industry environment.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by identifying opportunities to improve operations, mitigate risk, and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Lead proposal development, participate in client presentations, and contribute to practice growth initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships.
  • Leadership & Talent Development – Mentor, coach, and develop Managers, Supervisors, Senior Associates, and other team members through ongoing feedback, technical guidance, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively while promoting employee engagement and career growth.
  • Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Operational Management – Oversee engagement administration, including budgeting, billing, scheduling, resource planning, and deadline management.
  • Monitor engagement performance and proactively address budget variances, scheduling conflicts, and client concerns.
  • Maintain required Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits and stay current on industry developments and professional standards.
  • Support initiatives that improve engagement quality, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Eight or more years of progressive public accounting or assurance experience.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or other applicable professional certification.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex audit, review, and compilation engagements.
