Overview
Forvis Mazars' International Tax Services (ITS) Group strives to help companies achieve tax efficiency in their international operations. From major multinationals already operating in several countries to smaller businesses planning their first foray abroad, companies face a daunting array of regulations and tax concerns that impact and inform their global business decisions.
The International Tax Consultant works with Forvis Mazars' ITS team in completing international tax compliance and planning projects that include IC‑DISC analysis and return preparation, tax reporting for foreign operations of US companies, earnings and profits calculations, foreign tax credit calculations and other projects as required.
Responsibilities- Work with other professionals within the Tax Specialty team and domestic and international tax professionals.
- Provide tax consulting and compliance, diagnose issues, develop solutions, and implement tax solutions.
- Draft and assist in the delivery of client projects; use quantitative analysis to solve arising issues.
- Assist with US tax reporting for international transactions.
- Assist with IC‑DISC administration and compliance.
- Learn aspects of Global Mobility Services tax including social security, tax planning, tax compliance, and withholding tax implications for employees working outside the US.
- Work with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and GoSystems.
- Deliver Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clients.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- All accounting (or job‑relevant) coursework completed with a grade of C or above.
- Intermediate Accounting completed with a grade of C or above, where applicable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Reliable transportation to and from the assigned office and ability to attend off‑site meetings and events in person.
- Prior internships in a public accounting firm performing tax work.
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam or CPA certification.
