Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Kforce's client, a well-established consumer products organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations.

Summary:

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a strong accounting professional who enjoys owning the details while contributing to strategic business decisions. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and a small accounting team while partnering closely with leadership to drive operational and financial performance. This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule, client offering a competitive salary plus bonus and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

* Maintain ownership of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting

* Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, budgets, and management reports

* Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and US GAAP

* Manage and develop accounting team members

* Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

* Support inventory accounting, costing, reserves, and gross margin analysis

* Assist with lender reporting, covenant compliance, and external audit requirements

* Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight and support business growth
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting required: CPA is a plus (not required)

* 5+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or controllership experience

* Consumer products, distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, import/export, or inventory-intensive environments

* Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

* Experience with ERP systems;
Apprise experience is a plus

* Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
