Responsibilities
Kforce's client, a well-established consumer products organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for a strong accounting professional who enjoys owning the details while contributing to strategic business decisions. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and a small accounting team while partnering closely with leadership to drive operational and financial performance.
This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule. The client offers a competitive salary plus bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Maintain ownership of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, budgets, and management reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and US GAAP
- Manage and develop accounting team members
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Support inventory accounting, costing, reserves, and gross margin analysis
- Assist with lender reporting, covenant compliance, and external audit requirements
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight and support business growth
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA is a plus (not required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or controllership experience
- Experience in consumer products, distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, import/export, or inventory‑intensive environments
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with ERP systems;
Apprise experience is a plus - Strong communication, presentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
