Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Saint Louis, MO.

Summary:

This position applies advanced accounting knowledge to manage accounting areas, lead components of the close process, and support financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. The Senior Accountant partners cross functionally, supports audits, and contributes to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls. Responsibilities:

* Lead and execute assigned aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial results. Includes but not limited to journal entry preparation, review, and posting and preparation of supporting schedules to share cross functionally

* Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses;
Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies

* Partner with FP&A, Operations, and other cross functional teams to support business activities and resolve accounting matters

* Support internal and external audits by preparing audit documentation, responding to inquiries, and explaining accounting conclusions

* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency; support system enhancements and automation initiatives

* Assist with the interpretation and application of accounting policies and procedures

* Provide guidance and informal mentoring to Staff Accountants as appropriate
* Bachelor's degree

* CPA designation or progress toward CPA is preferred

* Minimum of 4-6 years of experience

* Demonstrated experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is essential

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel;

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle EPM/FCCS, Blackline, or similar) preferred

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound accounting judgment

* High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability

* Adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
