Senior Cost Accountant

Kforce's client, a growing manufacturing organization in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support plant operations and drive data-driven decision-making. This role partners closely with production and finance leadership to enhance cost visibility, improve efficiencies, and ensure strong inventory and manufacturing controls. Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials and finished goods

* Analyze manufacturing variances and provide actionable recommendations

* Support month-end close (journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis)

* Review bills of materials, production processes, and cost allocations

* Partner with operations to evaluate direct and indirect manufacturing costs

* Develop reporting on production performance, cost trends, and efficiencies

* Assist with budgeting, audits, and ad hoc projects
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

* 5+ years of experience in cost accounting; manufacturing exposure preferred

* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

* Ability to communicate financial insights to cross-functional teams

* Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets

* Experience with ERP/reporting tools (e.g., JDE, Cognos, One Stream) a plus
