Senior Accountant

Kforce's client, a growing and dynamic organization is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant to join its finance team in the Saint Louis, MO area. The client offers salary, benefits, work/life benefits.

Summary:

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the financial close process, support business operations, enhance accounting controls, and contribute to process improvement initiatives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

* Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations

* Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate accounting variances

* Partner with finance, operations, and other departments to address accounting matters and support business objectives

* Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries

* Support the implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and control enhancements

* Apply and interpret accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency

* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting team members when needed
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

* 4+ years of progressive accounting experience

* Experience working within a SOX-compliant environment

* Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting

* Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or financial systems

* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple business functions

* Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

* Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to accuracy
