Payroll Administrator
Robert Half is partnering with an established company in the St. Louis Metro area to hire a Payroll Administrator. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, ensuring the accuracy of employee salary data, timely processing of payroll, and compliance with applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will oversee payroll for a multi-state and multi location using ADP, ensure the accuracy of timesheets, and manage year-end processes, including the preparation and distribution of W-2 forms in compliance with tax deadlines. This position supports a variety of employee classifications and requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Administer payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Review and verify timesheets, including regular hours, PTO, and overtime
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Maintain and update payroll and timekeeping systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Prepare payroll reports, including headcount and audit reports
- Assist with payroll-related journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
- Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution
- Manage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications
- Track and maintain employee leave balances (PTO, sick time)
- Partner with HR and other departments to ensure accurate employee data
- Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation and filing
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
