Missouri Baptist University is looking to hire an Associate Director of Student Account
s. The Associate Director of Student Accounts provides leadership and oversight for student billing, collection, and compliance functions within the Financial Services Office. This role manages complex reconciliations, reporting, and regulatory filings while supporting students and families to ensure accurate account management and student billing.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations by producing and distributing IRS forms (1098-T, 1042-S, 8300), monitoring bankruptcy filings, and maintaining VA credentials.
- Manage reconciliations of online payment transactions, Ambassador/Acadeum invoices, misc. charges, and bank remittances.
- Oversee and provide customer service for billing and payment inquiries via phone, email, and in-person; collaborate with Financial Aid staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee the collection of required business office documentation for newly enrolled students and coordinate billing for international student insurance.
- Manage reporting functions including bad debt write-offs, unofficial/official registration reports, weekly balance reports, and scholarship tax withholding calculations.
- Develop, update, and run QC queries; maintain student accounts calendar; and update tuition/fee data on the MBU website and with the Department of War.
- Manage the Student Accounting Office and staff including hiring, training and performance appraisals, scheduling and task assignment.
- Maintain and update billing-related policies, procedures, and work instructions; stay current on regulatory changes impacting student accounts.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
3 – 5 years of experience in student accounts, financial services, or higher education administration
Preferred Education/ExperienceMaster’s Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
Supervisory experience in a university financial services office
