Accounts Payable Specialist

Vee-Jay Cement Contracting Company Inc. seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage high-volume AP for concrete construction projects. Responsibilities include processing invoices, matching POs, coding to jobs and cost codes, reconciling vendor statements, resolving discrepancies, and preparing weekly payment runs. You'll partner closely with project managers, field teams, and vendors to ensure accurate, timely payments and strong vendor relationships. Responsibilities

• Process and code vendor invoices to correct jobs, cost codes, and GL accounts
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, resolving discrepancies promptly
• Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and credit card payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding or overdue items
• Maintain accurate AP records, files, and documentation for audits
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams on job-related billing and costs
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
• Assist with month-end close, accruals, and AP aging reports
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and tax requirements (e.g., W-9)
• Support process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and automation in AP
