Manager, Accounting

Responsibilities

Kforce is partnering with a client in the Saint Louis, MO area to identify an Accounting & Tax Manager. This role will focus primarily on individual and business tax preparation, while also providing exposure to bookkeeping, payroll, client relationships, and process improvement. Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of three employees and manage key vendor and external relationships with wealth managers, attorneys, and business leaders
• Review individual, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation tax returns while conducting tax research and supporting year-end planning
• Manage IRS and state correspondence, including audit and notice responses, while staying current on tax law changes
• Support monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, Quick Books implementation, and other accounting technology initiatives for small business clients
• Provide clients with day-to-day accounting guidance and clear monthly financial reporting and recommendations
• Support employee benefit setup, including 401(k) and insurance programs
• Identify and implement process improvements, best practices, and system standardization to improve efficiency and the client experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and active CPA license
• Strong organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Quick Books; CCH and/or Drake preferred
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
