Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a well-established organization located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting, reporting, forecasting, and analysis for payroll, employee benefits, compensation, and corporate cost centers. This position partners with Human Resources, business leaders, and other accounting professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen accounting processes. • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reports, forecasts, and trend analyses related to payroll, health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and other compensation programs
• Perform general accounting activities involving prepaid expenses, relocation costs, tariffs, miscellaneous accruals, and other assigned accounts
• Support department leaders with cost-center accounting, annual planning, forecasting, and monthly financial reviews
• Analyze departmental spending, identify variances, and assist with presentations summarizing financial results
• Provide backup support to other members of the Accounting and Treasury teams as needed
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling employee compensation, payroll, and benefits information

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Three to five or more years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong journal-entry, account-reconciliation, financial-reporting, and variance-analysis skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulas

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
