Seasonal Office Receptionist (February – April 15th)

We are looking for an office receptionist to help us during the upcoming tax season. To be considered for this position, we ask for at least one year of prior experience in in a receptionist or similar role. We are a leading accounting firm in central Missouri, providing top-notch financial services to individuals and businesses. Our office values excellent customer service and a team-oriented environment, and we’re looking for a reliable individual to help us during our busiest time of year.

Job Description:

As a Seasonal Office Receptionist
, you’ll be the face of our firm, ensuring smooth office operations and assisting clients during the tax season. This is a full-time position on a temporary basis from January through April 15th, with opportunities to return in future tax seasons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments professionally and courteously.
  • Greet clients upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
  • Organize and prepare client files before appointments, and file completed paperwork accurately to maintain an efficient office system.
  • Walk clients through completed tax returns, including explaining balances due.
  • Collect payments and issue receipts for invoices.
  • Make daily trips to the bank and post office.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive client documents.
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (as needed during peak periods)
Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace "busy season" environment
  • Previous office or customer-facing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to learn and use basic office software (training provided).
  • Dependable with excellent time management skills.
  • Reliable transportation for errands to the bank and post office.
