Position: Data & Donor Management Specialist (1099) Independent Contractor
Location: St. Louis

At Friends of Kids with Cancer, we are dedicated to bringing moments of joy, support, and hope to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Behind every event, gift, and family service is accurate, secure data that helps us serve our community with care and compassion.

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Independent Contractor – Data & Donor Management Specialist to provide specialized support for our donor database, fundraising activities, program records, reporting, and related data projects.

This contractor will help Friends of Kids with Cancer maintain accurate records, strengthen donor relationships, track family support services, improve data quality, and support fundraising and program reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The contractor will provide specialized data-management, database, reporting, and data-quality services, including:

  • Entering, updating, and maintaining donation, donor, and fundraising records
  • Maintaining accurate donor and constituent records in the organization's Raiser’s Edge Database
  • Performing database cleanup, deduplication, standardization, and quality-control activities
  • Supporting gift entry, campaigns, funds, appeals, events, and donor-related data management
  • Preparing routine reports, spreadsheets, and data summaries
  • Assisting with event and fundraising campaign data management
  • Supporting tracking and reporting related to family support programs and services
  • Assisting with data imports, exports, and reconciliation
  • Identifying and resolving data discrepancies
  • Supporting special data-related projects and process improvements
  • Maintaining organized and secure electronic records
  • Communicating data issues, project status, and recommendations to designated staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Experience in data entry, database management, data administration, or a related field
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or Raiser's Edge NXT
  • Experience with donor, fundraising, or constituent relationship management systems
  • Experience with database cleanup, deduplication, imports/exports, or data reconciliation
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising data and reporting
  • Experience working with program or service-related data
SYSTEMS

The contractor may work with systems and tools including:

  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365
  • Online donation and fundraising platforms such as Give Smart
  • Event registration systems such as Give Smart
  • Secure cloud-based file and document systems
  • Other nonprofit database and reporting systems used by Friends of Kids with Cancer
ENGAGEMENT DETAILSClassification:

Up to approximately 30 hours per week initially, depending on the volume and nature of work and organizational needs. Hours may fluctuate based on projects, priorities, and deliverables.

Location:

Flexible/Hybrid. The engagement will be primarily offsite once the contractor is fully trained, with initial in-person training and occasional onsite attendance in St. Louis as mutually agreed upon for meetings, events, projects, or other business needs.

Compensation:

$32–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Initial Term:

One-year engagement, with the possibility of extension or renewal based on organizational needs and performance.
