Description of this role:
The receptionist serves as the first point of contact for participants, visitors, community partners, and staff at Fathers & Families Support Center. This position is responsible for providing professional customer service and administrative support while ensuring a welcoming and respectful environment aligned with FFSC's mission and values.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner; take accurate messages and provide information regarding agency programs and services.
  • Welcome visitors, participants, guests, and staff while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Complete assigned tasks and responsibilities accurately, thoroughly, and within established time frames.
  • Maintain confidential participant, employee, and organizational information in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Process paperwork, correspondence, and administrative documentation in a timely and organized manner.
  • Demonstrate strong listening, comprehension, and communication skills to effectively respond to inquiries and address participant and staff needs.
  • Provide administrative support to the office, including organizing files, managing records, scheduling meeting rooms, coordinating office activities, maintaining office equipment, and maintaining a professional reception area.
  • Maintain visitor sign-in logs and front desk records to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with agency safety procedures.
  • Monitor, track, and replenish office supplies and inventory; assist in the coordination of maintenance and operations of printers, copiers, and other office equipment.
  • Enter, update, and maintain participant and program information within agency data management systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and other business documents accurately and professionally.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to fast-changing priorities and organizational needs.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one to two years of receptionist, administrative, or front office experience preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations in a social service, healthcare, or human services environment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.
