Why This Role ExistsContested logistics planning requires experienced voices who understand both operational complexity and strategic direction. This role exists to help strengthen how USTRANSCOM prepares for future challenges by supporting concept development, operational planning, and enterprise-level logistics improvements.
As a Senior Program Analyst supporting the Contested Logistics Program, you will work closely with mission partners to evaluate current processes, identify gaps, and help design practical solutions that improve readiness and strategic posture. Your work will contribute directly to national-level planning efforts and help shape how logistics supports future operations.
The ideal candidate brings experience serving as a staff officer at a major combatant command or service headquarters, with a strong background in concepts development or operations planning.
What You Will Do- Support development and execution of the USTRANSCOM Contested Logistics Plan of Action
- Assist in identifying areas within the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise that require improvement to enhance mission execution
- Help draft and implement updates to policies, regulations, doctrine, programs of record, and operational processes
- Develop white papers, analyses, reports, and strategic planning materials supporting logistics requirements
- Identify gaps between current practices and best practices and assist in designing future-state approaches
- Support development of contested logistics strategies for internal and external audiences, including national-level guidance
- Conduct logistics requirements analysis and recommend solutions to address joint force logistics gaps
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field
- Ten years of relevant experience supporting operational planning, strategy, or program analysis
- Experience serving as a staff officer at a Combatant Command or Military Service Headquarters
- Background in concepts development, operations planning, or strategic analysis
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly through written products and senior-level briefings
- Active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI is required for this trusted, mission-facing role
- Restricted to U.S. persons as defined under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
