This position is based on-site at our Des Peres, Missouri headquarters.

About the Role

The Driver Compliance Specialist plays an important role in supporting Uni Group's commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. This position is responsible for monitoring driver compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), supporting Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance initiatives, investigating safety violations, and partnering with agents and van operators to improve safety performance.

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, coaching others, interpreting regulations, and building relationships with stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a passion for promoting safe and compliant transportation operations.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), Uni Group safety policies, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) standards, and ELD requirements.
  • Review and investigate safety-related incidents, compliance exceptions, hours-of-service violations, incomplete logs, and other regulatory concerns.
  • Conduct coaching conversations with van operators and Agency Safety Representatives (ASRs) to promote safe driving behaviors and reduce future violations.
  • Support Uni Group's progressive safety and compliance programs by identifying trends, addressing concerns, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Monitor driver compliance performance and assist in implementing initiatives designed to improve safety outcomes.
  • Partner with agents to support compliance efforts and improve Safety Performance Ratings (SPRs) through education, communication, and positive reinforcement.
  • Serve as a resource for ELD-related questions and collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and system concerns.
  • Review data, reports, and documentation to identify compliance risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Respond to safety-related inquiries from internal departments and provide guidance on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Help maintain documentation, records, and reporting that support regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to support department and organizational goals.
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of related experience, preferably within the transportation, logistics, fleet, or safety compliance industry.
  • Working knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance practices, or safety programs.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review information, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and influence others effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service requirements, or commercial transportation compliance programs.
  • Experience supporting ELD systems and driver log management.
  • Transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or safety administration experience.
  • Experience conducting coaching conversations, training, or compliance-related communications.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing safety data, reports, or compliance metrics.
