Job SummaryThe Aftercare Supervisor oversees the school’s aftercare program, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students during after-school hours. This leadership role is responsible for supervising aftercare staff, supporting student well-being, maintaining program quality, and serving as the primary point of contact for families and school administration. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, patient, and passionate about working with children while guiding a team to deliver high-quality care.
Job Responsibilities- Supervise daily aftercare operations and ensure a safe, structured environment for students
- Oversee and support Aftercare Workers during program hours
- Ensure proper supervision of all students and maintain appropriate staff-to-student ratios
- Address behavioral or safety concerns and communicate incidents to school leadership
- Assist with planning and organizing age-appropriate activities
- Maintain attendance records and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate with parents regarding routine matters and student needs
- Step in to support classrooms or cover staff as needed
- Ensure clean-up, snack time, and daily transitions run smoothly
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred - Previous experience working with children in a school, daycare, or camp setting required
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong group management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-oriented
- CPR/First Aid certification
