Residential Construction Estimator / Project Developer

$75,000 - $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience

Hamtil Construction is a leading residential design-build remodeling company serving the greater St. Louis area. We specialize in high-quality renovations and additions that combine creativity, craftsmanship, and client care. As our company grows, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Construction Estimator/ Project Developer to join our professional team.

About the Role:

The Estimator/ Project Developer will play a key role in our pre-construction process, providing accurate and timely estimates for residential remodeling and renovation projects. This position requires strong residential remodeling knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with the design team, production team, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the design and pre-construction team to walk clients through the project development process.
• Review drawings, create specifications, and develop scopes of work.
• Evaluate projects for code compliance requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and labor/material pricing for residential remodeling projects.
• Solicit and evaluate trade partner and vendor quotes.
• Collaborate with project managers and designers to refine scopes and identify value-engineering opportunities when required.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and assist with project budgeting and proposal development.
• Support the project handoff to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to production.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred but not required.
• A background in residential remodeling estimating is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of the residential remodeling process, materials, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Job Tread or similar project management systems is preferred.
• Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and trade partners.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity in all work.
• Strong Analytical & problem solving skills
