Construction Scheduler
Position Type:
Contract
Location:
Missouri (On-site)
Reports to:
Project Controls Manager
Key Project Requirements:
* 10+ years of scheduling experience on large-scale construction projects
* Experience supporting simple cycle and/or combined cycle gas turbine projects (GE 7FA preferred)
* Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including development of integrated master schedules (IMS)
* Experience supporting gas turbine (CT) installation sequencing with a strong understanding of construction-driven scheduling
Job Summary:
PIC Staffing is seeking a Construction Project Scheduler to support the construction of a large-scale natural gas-fired power generation facility in the St. Louis area. This role will serve as a "master scheduler," providing oversight and ensuring schedule integrity across project execution. The Construction Project Scheduler will work closely with project controls, construction, and commissioning teams to validate schedule performance, identify risks, and ensure alignment between planning and field execution.
This individual will play a critical role in driving milestone accountability and supporting on-time project delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide oversight of project schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with field execution
* Ensure schedules reflect actual construction sequencing, gas turbine installation logic, and field-driven execution, not just planned activities
* Review and integrate contractor and subcontractor schedules into the overall project schedule
* Develop and maintain integrated master schedules (IMS) across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
* Perform critical path analysis and identify schedule risks with mitigation strategies
* Lead look-ahead planning (3-6 week) and schedule review meetings
* Monitor progress and ensure accurate reporting of milestones and schedule performance
* Support coordination between construction, scheduling, and commissioning teams
* Provide guidance to internal schedulers to improve schedule quality and execution discipline
* Communicate schedule status, risks, and mitigation plans to project leadership
Job Requirements:
* Experience supporting new-build power generation or large industrial EPC construction projects
* Strong understanding of gas turbine installation sequencing, balance of plant, and commissioning integration (GE 7FA preferred)
* Proven ability to operate in an oversight / lead scheduler role, not just task-level scheduling
* Ability to translate schedule logic into real-world construction activities
* Experience working in active construction environments with multiple contractors and stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps between plan and execution
* Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Education / Experience:
* Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, or related field)
* Equivalent experience will be considered
* 10+ years of project scheduling / project controls experience
