Location: St. Louis

Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in St. Louis, MO. This role is responsible for reviewing design documents, proposals, specifications, and drawings, while actively participating in design development meetings to assess risk and cost impacts. The Estimator will play a key role in developing accurate and comprehensive project cost estimates for complex heavy civil and marine projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed capital cost estimates for heavy civil and marine construction projects
  • Review design documents, proposals, and specifications to assess cost and risk impacts
  • Prepare estimates by developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and performing quantity take-offs for complete project scope
  • Apply construction means and methods to support accurate pricing
  • Calculate indirect field costs and owner's costs
  • Assist contracts team with developing Statements of Work (SOW) for subcontractors and vendors
  • Review contractor proposals across various procurement methods
  • Review and validate change orders for accuracy and completeness
  • Interface with clients to present and explain capital cost estimates
  • Maintain organized project files, records, and estimating logs
  • Attend project and design meetings as required

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1015 years of estimating and construction experience, preferably in heavy civil or marine projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, cost development, and risk evaluation
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience with MII (MCACES 2nd Generation) estimating software
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software
  • Experience with alternative delivery procurement methods
  • Solid understanding of the relationship between cost, risk, and schedule
  • Professional certifications such as CPE, CEP, CCP, PMP, or CCM
