A nationally recognized design-build general contractor is seeking experienced Project Managers to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects throughout the United States. These individuals will manage projects from initial planning and preconstruction through construction, commissioning, closeout, and warranty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design-build, construction management, and construct-only projects from assignment through completion.
  • Coordinate with project executives, superintendents, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Support proposals, conceptual estimates, project schedules, constructability reviews, and client presentations.
  • Monitor design development and identify potential scope, cost, schedule, and constructability concerns.
  • Prepare bid packages, analyze subcontractor proposals, qualify bidders, and award subcontracts and major purchase orders.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with field leadership and trade partners.
  • Lead project meetings and provide accurate schedule, cost, and progress reporting.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, labor reporting, change orders, invoicing, collections, and overall cash flow.
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, procurement, material deliveries, and long-lead equipment coordination.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, testing, commissioning, and final approvals.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and address quality, safety, schedule, or contractual concerns.
  • Partner closely with the superintendent to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage closeout documentation, owner acceptance, warranty work, and final project turnover.
  • Mentor and develop assistant project managers, project engineers, and other project team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent construction experience will also be considered.
  • Approximately 5+ years of commercial construction experience for Project Manager-level candidates.
  • Approximately 10+ years of construction, design, or project management experience for Senior Project Manager-level candidates.
  • Data center or mission critical construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing large, technically complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, estimating, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and subcontract administration.
  • Familiarity with mission critical electrical and mechanical systems, equipment procurement, commissioning, and turnover is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, project teams, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety requirements.
  • Willingness to travel extensively based on project needs.

Ideal Background

The strongest candidates will have experience delivering large-scale data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities, semiconductor plants, pharmaceutical facilities, or other technically complex projects requiring significant MEP coordination, schedule management, and phased commissioning.
