Safety Manager, Commercial Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to join our team in the commercial construction sector. This role is critical in ensuring the health and safety of all personnel, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety across all projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to commercial construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees and subcontractors on safety protocols and best practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and ensure company compliance.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to promote awareness and engagement among team members.
- Monitor and manage safety equipment, ensuring availability and proper use on all job sites.
- Compile and analyze safety data to identify trends and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in safety management within the commercial construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and educate diverse teams.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Conduct daily site visits to monitor safety practices and address any immediate concerns.
- Facilitate safety training sessions and ensure all personnel are equipped with the knowledge to perform their tasks safely.
- Review and update safety documentation, including risk assessments, safety plans, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Respond promptly to safety incidents, providing on-site support and conducting thorough investigations.
- Maintain open communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on safety objectives and expectations.
