Project Manager
- Heavy Civil
- St. Louis, MO

Metric Geo is partnering with a well-established heavy civil contractor in the St. Louis market to identify an experienced Operations Manager to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for a senior construction professional with a background in DOT, highway, roadway, bridge, earthwork, utilities, or other heavy civil construction to take a leadership role overseeing projects, field operations, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple heavy civil/DOT projects
  • Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
  • Monitor project performance, schedules, costs, productivity, and profitability
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to specification
  • Work closely with senior leadership on operational strategy and resource planning
  • Maintain relationships with DOT representatives, owners, subcontractors, and key clients
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to keep work on track
  • Assist with estimating, bidding, preconstruction, and project planning
  • Support project teams with contract, change order, and commercial issues
  • Help develop and mentor project management and field personnel
  • Assist with equipment, manpower, and resource allocation across projects
Ideal Background
  • 8+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Previous experience in an Operations, Senior Project Management, Project Executive, or similar leadership role
  • Strong DOT/highway/roadway construction experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects and project teams
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, contracts, and production
  • Experience working with state DOTs preferred
  • MoDOT experience is highly desirable
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-management skills
