This role will build on an existing foundation of garment expertise. You will assist the Technical Design Department in daily tasks including but not limited to: organizing and maintaining garment samples, preparing for fittings, and measuring garments, with many more ownership opportunities to grow into.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Track and receive incoming samples.
- Prepare samples for measuring and communicate to team that samples are ready to pass off.
- Review garment construction and compare to the tech pack as needed.
- Measure garments that come into the department;
Proto, SMS, Fit, Pre-Production, and TOP. - Prepare Fit Room with printed assets for daily cross-functional fittings.
- Join daily departmental fittings; photograph samples and maintain image library.
- Sit in handover meetings between design and technical design.
- Work closely with development and production to maintain timelines.
- Input Fit Comments and measurement data into PLM as provided by Technical Designers.
- Prepare, ship, and track outgoing international packages to multiple destinations.
- Maintain active seasonal sample library; ensuring garments are filed correctly and are easy to find. Keep team work spaces clean and tidy.
- Facilitate transition between active sample library and historical sample archive; including trips to offsite storage location as needed.
- Assist with building reference sample library and visual website tool.

QUALIFICATIONS- Degree and 1-2 years’ experience in: garment construction, pattern making, or technical design.
- Understanding of points of measure, garment construction, and fit.
- A motivated, self-starter mentality eager to work within an open-office environment and collaborate with multiple departments of the company.
- Must be positive, a critical thinker, a team player, very detail and solution oriented, and a fast learner.
- Meticulous organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with a great understanding of fashion market and trends.
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)
- PLM experience is great—but not required if you’re a fast learner.
- Understanding of specs and grading.
- Solid understanding of fabric types, finishes, content, and how they affect fit.
- First-hand experience making your own garments across a wide-variety of silhouettes and fabrications – we’d love to see your portfolio or sewing projects!
