Job DescriptionSummary:
Desk Attendants in the Maryville University Athletic Department are responsible for enforcing the rules and maintaining the areas in the Simon Athletic Center. There are two desks to attend to in the building and the locations and responsibilities are listed below.
Job Responsibilities:
- Acknowledge every guest that walks through the doors of the Simon Center. Greet them as they enter or thank them as they exit in a polite manner in a polite manner
- Make sure every person that uses our facilities is part of the Maryville campus community—faculty, staff, current students and approved outside group only
- Answer any questions that guests may have about our current policies, hours of operations, and events happening within the athletic space
- Pick up loose items and return them to their proper place
- Monitor lobby and make sure guests are adhering to current Simon Center policies and procedures.
- Occupy the Welcome Desk and be a conduit for all those that enter
- Monitor the Gym and Functional Exercise Room (FER)
- Assist in preparing the gym for various activities
- Pick up any loose equipment and return it to the proper place
- Clean the gym floor when necessary
- Complete assigned tasks at time tasks are assigned
- Sanitize all fitness equipment during shift at assigned time
- Make sure supplies are properly maintained and replenished
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Maryville University undergraduate program
- Applicants must be work study eligible/have a work study award in their financial aid package to apply to this position
Physical Demands
- You will be lifting various weights, equipment, etc.
- You will be making laps around the area to ensure it is clean/maintained
Position Pay: $15/hr
Start Date:08/24/2026
End Date:05/02/2027
