In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert of a client's standards, collaborating with internal teams, architects, project managers, and clients to implement innovative, functional spatial solutions for commercial office design. The ideal candidate pairs strong creative vision with sharp technical execution, balancing hands-on design document production with team mentorship.

Principal

Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end design process, including client programming, space planning, occupancy analysis, and the creation of comprehensive design documents.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate directly with clients to translate their operational needs and brand standards into functional layouts.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Mentor junior designers, foster a collaborative environment, and actively support the onboarding and training of new Project Designers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams, external consultants, and project managers to ensure design integrity and seamless delivery.
  • Quality Control & Compliance: Maintain a high level of quality control across all deliverables, ensuring strict compliance with accessibility standards, building codes, and life safety regulations.
  • Project & Deadline Execution: Manage schedules and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects, being able to pivot between projects ensuring milestones are met without sacrificing design quality.
  • Innovation: Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current design methodologies, and technology to drive efficiency and innovation.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA or NAAB-accredited institution.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in the design and construction industry, with a proven track record of managing commercial or corporate projects independently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Professional-level proficiency in Revit is required
  • Knowledge Base: Working understanding of building codes, standard construction principles, and commercial interior design best practices.
  • Professional

    Skills:

    Exceptional communication, presentation, and time-management skills, with the ability to confidently communicate design concepts to corporate stakeholders.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $ 63,750.00 - $75,000.00
