Position Summary
Work with the Global Studies (GS) program director, faculty, and staff to administer the GS undergrad and fac research programs. Teach GS courses. This position will supervise three staff members - the admin coordinator, the program coordinator, and the FWS undergrad student(s) and work closely with the other faculty, staff, and post-doc fellow(s), to ensure the smooth functioning of the GS program.
Job Description
Primary
Duties & Responsibilities:
Interdisciplinary Research Program
* Identify grants and other funding sources for interdisciplinary research and assist faculty with applying for them.
* Administer the Global Futures small grants program.
* Develop and support research initiatives for the program including scheduling meetings, gathering materials, developing the intellectual agenda, and publicizing program-sponsored events.
* Coordinate collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Research.
GS Program Administration
* Serve as a major advisor for GS majors.
* Supervise and train the Program Coordinator, Administrative Coordinator, and student work-study.
* Approve biweekly staff hours in Workday.
* Coordinate assessment of undergrad program and write reports.
* Submit reports and undertake special projects as required by the director.
* Ensure timely dissemination of program decisions by:
* Taking minutes at faculty meetings and circulating them to GS faculty.
* Maintaining records of decisions and updating GS guidance as necessary to reflect changes.
* Maintain the GS faculty handbook.
* Assist with curriculum development and implementation.
* Provide information to and support faculty in their pedagogical roles.
* Work closely with grad students and postdoc fellows in developing their teaching contributions and integrating them into the life of the program.
* Serve as the senior staff for social events for GS majors, including the graduation party and other events for undergrads during the year.
* Serve on the GS Advisory Committee.
* Promote and implement programs to increase diversity in the major.
Teaching
* Participate in the intellectual life of the GS Program.
* Teach up to the equivalent of two classes per term:
* One course per semester shall be a GS required course.
* One course per semester shall be in the applicant's field of expertise.
Other duties and special projects in support of the program coordinator as assigned.

$53,100.00 - $90,600.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
