Job SummaryThe Recess Aide plays a vital role in creating a safe, respectful, and faith-centered environment during school recess periods. This position ensures student safety, promotes positive play, and upholds the values of the Catholic faith in all interactions with students and staff.
Job ResponsibilitiesSupervise students during recess to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
Monitor playground and/or indoor recess areas to prevent accidents and manage conflicts.
Encourage respectful and cooperative play, reinforcing positive behavior.
Intervene when necessary to de-escalate disputes using appropriate conflict‑resolution techniques.
Administer minor first aid as needed and report injuries or incidents according to school protocols.
Maintain visibility and circulate among students to ensure active supervision.
Assist in setting up and putting away playground or recess equipment.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, teachers, and staff.
Model Christian values and behavior in all interactions.
Participate in any required training, meetings, or school safety drills.
Support the overall mission and philosophy of the Catholic school.
Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with children in a supervisory or educational role preferred.
Practicing Catholic or respectful of the Catholic faith and traditions.
Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to stand, walk, and be outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
