By volunteering with Power Up, you’ll inspire students to think critically about the digital world, build their confidence, and empower them to make safer choices online. Every session is a chance to open new doors and show kids what’s possible for their future.

  • Participate in-person at local schools (volunteers must be located in the St. Louis area).
  • Complete a school district–mandated background check ($25 fee).
  • Attend a virtual orientation with Cyber Up, where we’ll walk you through activities and share best practices.
  • Use our ready-to-go lesson plans and materials to teach cybersecurity in a fun, age-appropriate way.
  • Model professionalism and encourage positive engagement in every classroom visit.

  • Reliability and punctuality to ensure consistency for students and schools.
  • Positive attitude, patience, and flexibility when working in classroom environments.
  • Team player who can collaborate with teachers, Cyber Up staff, and fellow volunteers.
