Mary Queen of Peace School is seeking a creative, dynamic full-time Art Teacher to inspire students and foster artistic expression for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will guide students in developing their artistic skills while nurturing an appreciation for art in all its forms.

This position is responsible for designing and delivering standards-based curriculum that supports creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. Instruction includes a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and design, along with exposure to art history and cultural perspectives. The teacher will adapt lessons for diverse ages and ability levels, encouraging both skill development and personal expression.

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and teaching engaging art lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Providing instruction in multiple artistic techniques and media.
• Integrating art history and cultural studies into classroom learning.
• Encouraging creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking.
• Managing classroom safety and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
• Tracking and maintaining art supplies and inventory.
• Assessing and evaluating student learning and artistic growth.
• Differentiating instruction to support diverse learners.
• Collaborating with faculty and participating in school community events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Art Education.
• Current and valid teaching certificate.
• Prior classroom teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for the arts.
• Growth mindset and enthusiasm for working with students of varying abilities.
• Completion of the Protecting God’s Children workshop (required by the Archdiocese of St. Louis).
